Group scheduling with a free meeting poll

Calenday handles group scheduling with meeting polls, free on every plan. You propose between 1 and 30 possible times for a meeting, share one link, and each participant ticks the times that work for them. You then see every vote in one place and pick the slot that suits the most people.

What it does

What is a Calenday meeting poll?

A Calenday meeting poll is a public page where a group votes on possible meeting times. The organizer sets a title, a meeting length between 5 minutes and 24 hours, and up to 30 time options. Participants enter their name and email, then select every time they can attend.

  • Up to 30 time options

Propose from 1 to 30 possible times for the same meeting.

  • Any meeting length

Set a duration from 5 minutes up to 24 hours.

  • Several choices per person

Each participant can tick as many of the proposed times as they like.

  • All votes in one view

The organizer sees who voted for which time and can compare the options at a glance.

Setup

How do you create a group scheduling poll?

Creating a group scheduling poll in Calenday takes four steps: open Meeting polls, add a title, a duration and your proposed times, share the link, then read the votes. Participants do not need a Calenday account; they only give their name and email on the voting page.

  • 01

    Open Scheduling → Meeting polls

In the Calenday dashboard, go to Scheduling, open the Meeting polls tab and click Create a poll.

  • 02

    Add the details

Enter a poll title, the meeting length and between 1 and 30 proposed times.

  • 03

    Share the link

Copy the poll link and send it to the group by email or chat.

  • 04

    Read the votes and book

Check which time has the most votes, then send the group a meeting invitation, for example through a one-off link.

Details

How does voting work for participants?

Voting in a Calenday meeting poll takes less than a minute: the participant opens the link, enters a name and an email address, ticks the times that work and submits. No Calenday account or app is needed. The voting page is rate-limited to block automated spam votes.

  • No account for voters

Participants vote from the public page with just a name and an email address.

  • Spam protection

The voting page is rate-limited, so a script cannot flood a poll with fake votes.

  • Free on every plan

Meeting polls are included in the free plan, with no time limit.

  • One-off links to follow up

Once you know the winning time, a one-off booking link, also free, lets the meeting be booked once.

Limits

What do Calenday meeting polls not do yet?

Calenday meeting polls collect votes but do not finish the job on their own. You cannot close a poll yet, the winning time is not confirmed automatically, no meeting is created for you and voters receive no email. The organizer books the meeting manually after reading the results.

  • No automatic booking

The winning time is not confirmed and no meeting is created automatically. The organizer books it.

  • No emails to voters

Participants are not notified of the result. Send the final time yourself.

  • No closing date

A poll cannot be closed yet, so it stays open for votes.

FAQ

Group scheduling questions

How do I find a time to meet with a group?
The simplest way is to send the group a poll. In Calenday, you list up to 30 times that work for you and share a single link. Everyone checks the times they’re free, and you see all the answers side by side, so you can pick the time that works for the most people.
Is the Calenday meeting poll free?
Yes. Meeting polls are part of the Calenday free plan, which has no time limit and also includes unlimited event types, bookings and one-off links. The Lifetime license, a single $99 payment for unlimited users, adds video links, payments, email reminders and analytics, but you never need it to run a poll.
Do participants need an account to vote?
No. Participants open the poll link, type their name and email address, tick the times they can attend and submit. They do not need a Calenday account or any app. Only the organizer who creates the poll needs a Calenday account, and that account can be on the free plan.
Does Calenday book the meeting once everyone has voted?
No. Calenday shows you the votes, but it does not confirm the winning time, create the meeting or email the participants yet. After reviewing the results, you book the meeting yourself, for example by sending a one-off link or a calendar invitation for the chosen time.
Can a meeting poll replace Doodle?
A Calenday meeting poll covers the core of a date poll: proposed times, a public voting page and a view of all votes. It does not yet close polls or notify voters. For a full comparison of features and pricing, read the Calenday vs Doodle page.
