Features

Every feature, and the ones we do not have

Calenday is a complete scheduling product: availability rules, booking pages, calendar sync, reminders, payments and analytics. Nothing here is an upsell module — the free plan carries the core, and one $99 payment unlocks the rest for everyone in your account.

Availability

The availability engine

Calenday computes bookable slots from your real constraints: weekly hours, one-off overrides, buffers around meetings, minimum notice, how far ahead people can book, and the events already in your connected calendar. Times are stored in UTC and shown in each person’s own zone.

  • Weekly schedules

Define working hours per day, with as many schedules as you need — one for consultations, another for internal calls — and attach them to specific event types.

  • Date overrides

Block a week off, or open an unusual Saturday, without touching your recurring hours.

  • Buffers and notice

Padding before and after each meeting, a minimum lead time so nobody books you in ten minutes, and a horizon beyond which the calendar simply stops.

  • Time zones and holidays

Every slot is converted to the visitor’s zone at display time. Public holidays for your country can be excluded automatically.

Event types

Event types, without a ceiling

An event type is one bookable thing: a 30-minute discovery call, a 90-minute audit, a paid session. Calenday puts no limit on how many you create, on any plan — including the free one, where most tools stop at a single event type.

  • One-to-one and group

Meet one person, or open a slot several guests can join up to a capacity you set.

  • Round-robin distribution

Share incoming bookings across a team so the next request goes to whoever is genuinely free. Available on the free plan.

  • Slot polls

For meetings that need six diaries to agree: propose several slots, collect votes on a public page, confirm the winner.

  • Custom questions

Add the fields you actually need — a phone number, a case reference, a dropdown — and mark them required. Answers travel with the booking.

Booking page

A page that belongs to your brand

Your public booking page carries your logo, your colours and your questions, at a URL under your organisation’s slug. Guests see your brand, not ours — and on the Lifetime licence, the “Powered by Calenday” line disappears entirely.

  • Logo and colour

Set the brand colour and logo per organisation. Each brand in your account looks like itself.

  • The guest’s language

The page adapts to the visitor’s browser, or you can pin it to one of English, French, German or Spanish.

  • Calendar file and confirmation

Guests receive a confirmation email with an .ics attachment that works in every calendar client.

  • Rate-limited by default

Public booking endpoints are rate-limited, so a badly behaved script cannot flood your calendar.

Calendars

Google Calendar and Microsoft 365

Connect a calendar with one OAuth button and Calenday reads it to hide slots you are already busy in, then writes confirmed bookings back with the guest attached. You never paste a token or an API key anywhere in Calenday.

  • Two-way sync

Existing events block availability; new bookings appear in your calendar with the guest as an attendee.

  • Several calendars at once

Connect a work calendar and a personal one so a private appointment blocks a professional slot without revealing what it is.

  • Tokens encrypted at rest

Access and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-GCM before storage and never sent to the browser.

  • Disconnect at any time

One click revokes the connection and deletes the stored credentials.

Video

Meet, Teams and Zoom

When a booking is confirmed, Calenday creates the conference link and puts it in the invitation and the confirmation email. Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom are supported, each connected through its own OAuth flow. This is part of the Lifetime licence.

  • Google Meet

Created through your connected Google Calendar, so the link is attached to the event itself.

  • Microsoft Teams

Generated through Microsoft Graph on your Microsoft 365 account.

  • Zoom

A meeting is created on your Zoom account at confirmation time, with the join link in the invitation.

  • Or somewhere physical

An event type can carry an address or a phone number instead of a video link.

Automation

Reminders and workflows

A workflow is a rule: when this happens, send that. Calenday triggers on booking, a set time before the meeting, a set time after it, or on cancellation — and sends your own email copy to the guest or to the host. This is part of the Lifetime licence.

  • Four triggers

Booking created, before the event, after the event, booking cancelled — each with its own offset in minutes.

  • Your words, not ours

Write the subject and body yourself, with variables for the guest’s name, the date, the event and the meeting link.

  • Guest or host

Target the invitee for reminders, or yourself for a briefing email an hour before the call.

  • Sent for you

Transactional email goes out through the platform’s own delivery service — there is nothing to configure on your side.

Payments

Get paid when someone books

Attach a price to an event type and the guest pays at the moment of booking. The money goes to your own Stripe or PayPal account, connected by OAuth — Calenday is the plumbing, never the recipient. This is part of the Lifetime licence.

  • Stripe

Connected through Stripe’s hosted onboarding. Charges are direct: funds settle on your account, on your payout schedule.

  • PayPal

Connected through PayPal’s partner onboarding, with the order captured when your guest returns from checkout.

  • The slot is held, not stolen

An unpaid booking holds the slot for a short window, then releases it. Nobody blocks your Tuesday morning for free.

  • Refunds

Refund a paid booking from the meeting itself; the cancellation and the refund travel together.

Teams and brands

Several brands, sealed off from each other

One Calenday account can hold several organisations that share nothing: their own booking pages, colours, members, contacts and bookings. Isolation is enforced by row-level security in the database, not only by application code.

  • Unlimited organisations

Create a brand per client, per practice or per product line. On the free plan too.

  • Invite by email

Members join a specific brand through a signed invitation link and see nothing outside it.

  • Contacts and history

Everyone who books becomes a contact with their full booking history, exportable to CSV.

  • Analytics

Booking volume, cancellation and no-show rates, and which event types actually get used. Part of the Lifetime licence.

Security

Security and data handling

Third-party tokens are encrypted at rest, every table enforces row-level security, accounts can require a TOTP second factor, and every webhook signature is verified before anything is written. The product also ships as a Docker image you can run yourself.

  • Encryption at rest

Calendar, video and payment credentials are encrypted with AES-GCM before they reach the database.

  • Two-factor authentication

TOTP with any standard authenticator app, plus recovery codes. No SMS dependency.

  • Verified webhooks

Stripe and PayPal callbacks are signature-checked and de-duplicated, so a replayed event cannot confirm a booking twice.

  • Deploy it yourself

A Docker image and a Postgres database are all it takes. No proprietary service you cannot replace.

Honesty

What Calenday does not do

Every product page lists strengths. This one lists the gaps too, because you will find them in week two anyway and it is cheaper for both of us if you find them now. Here is what Calenday is not, as of today.

  • No native SMS or WhatsApp yet

Workflows send email. SMS and WhatsApp are planned through your own connected Twilio or Meta account, but they are not shipped.

  • No mobile apps

Calenday is a web application. It works on a phone browser, but there is no App Store or Play Store build.

  • A short integration list

Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Stripe and PayPal. Not the three thousand connectors an established platform advertises. If your workflow depends on a niche CRM, check first.

  • No CRM or invoicing

Contacts and booking history, yes. Deal pipelines, quotes and invoices, no — those belong in a tool built for them.

  • Not open source

You can deploy Calenday yourself with Docker, but the source is not published under an open licence. If a public repository is a requirement, Cal.com is the honest answer.

  • No formal certification

Calenday is not SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA certified. We describe the technical measures in place and let you judge; we will not claim a badge we do not hold.

Questions

Questions about features

Which features require the $99 licence?
Five: automated email workflows, collecting payment for a booking, video conferencing links, the analytics view, and removing the “Powered by Calenday” line. Everything else — unlimited brands, unlimited event types, unlimited bookings, calendar sync, round-robin, polls, contacts — is on the free plan.
Is round-robin really on the free plan?
Yes. Distributing bookings across a team is core scheduling, not a premium add-on. Calendly puts round-robin on its Teams plan at $16 per seat per month, and Cal.com on its Teams plan at $12 per seat per month. In Calenday it costs nothing.
Can I connect more than one calendar?
Yes, and it matters more than it sounds. Connecting both a work and a personal calendar means a private appointment blocks a professional slot without exposing what that appointment is. There is no cap on connections, on either plan.
How do payments reach me?
Directly. You connect your own Stripe or PayPal account through an OAuth flow, and charges are made on that account. Calenday never holds the funds and takes no cut of them. Your payout schedule is whatever you have agreed with Stripe or PayPal.
Can I run Calenday on my own server?
Yes. Calenday needs a Postgres database and a container runtime, and ships with a Docker image. That covers a VPS, a private cloud or your own datacentre. The licence price is the same whether you use our hosting or yours.
What happens to my data if I stop using it?
Contacts and booking history export to CSV at any time, without asking anyone. On the hosted service, deleting your account removes your data. Self-hosted, the database is yours from the start and nothing needs to be handed back.

Start on the free plan. Decide later.

Unlimited bookings, no card, no countdown. If Calenday earns the $99, you will know within a week.
