Google Calendar appointment scheduling with Calenday
Calenday adds appointment scheduling to Google Calendar for free. Connect your Google account with one button, and Calenday checks your primary calendar in real time every time a guest opens your booking page. Each confirmed booking lands in Google Calendar with the guest as an attendee, and Calenday sends the confirmation email.
What does the Calenday Google Calendar integration do?
The Calenday Google Calendar integration reads your busy times to hide taken slots, then writes every confirmed booking back to your calendar. Availability is checked live, each time slots are shown, so a meeting you added a minute ago is already blocked. It is included in the free plan.
Live availability
Calenday queries the primary calendar of each connected account every time it displays slots, so there is no sync delay.
Events created for you
Each confirmed booking becomes a Google Calendar event with the guest added as an attendee.
Several Google accounts
Connect more than one Google account to the same organization, for example a work account and a personal one.
Cancellations handled
When you cancel a booking, Calenday deletes the event. When you reschedule it, Calenday creates the event again at the new time.
How do you set up Google Calendar scheduling in Calenday?
Setting up Google Calendar scheduling in Calenday takes about two minutes and three steps: connect your Google account, check your weekly hours, then share your booking link. You never enter an API key; Google’s own sign-in page handles access, and the account shows as Connected when you return.
- 01
Open Availability → Calendar settings
In your Calenday dashboard, go to Availability, then the Calendar settings tab, and click Connect next to Google Calendar.
- 02
Approve access on Google
Sign in to your Google account and approve access. You come back to Calenday with the account marked Connected.
- 03
Check your hours
Under Availability, set your weekly hours, buffers and minimum notice. Calenday combines them with your Google Calendar events.
- 04
Share your booking page
Copy the link of an event type from Scheduling and send it. Booked times appear in Google Calendar automatically.
What happens in Google Calendar when someone books?
When a guest books, Calenday creates the event in Google Calendar with the guest as an attendee and sends its own confirmation email with an .ics file. Google does not send a second invitation, so the guest receives exactly one message. With the Lifetime license, a Google Meet link can be added too.
One confirmation email
Calenday sends the confirmation with an .ics file. Google sends no duplicate.
Google Meet option
On the Lifetime license, choose Google Meet as the video provider and the link is added to the event.
Encrypted tokens
Google access tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the server and never reach the browser.
Clean disconnect
One click revokes Calenday’s access to your Google account and deletes the stored tokens.
What are the limits of the Google Calendar integration?
Calenday checks only the main calendar in each Google account you connect, so secondary calendars are ignored for now. A connected calendar also blocks time for everyone in the organization. Guests can’t reschedule or cancel a booking themselves, either: the host makes those changes from the Calenday dashboard.
Primary calendar only
Secondary calendars in the same Google account are not checked for conflicts.
Shared across the organization
A connected calendar blocks slots for the whole organization. For separate calendars per person, create one organization per person.
Host-side changes only
Guests cannot reschedule or cancel themselves. The host does it from the Calenday dashboard.
Google Calendar scheduling questions
- Is Google Calendar scheduling free with Calenday?
- Yes. Connecting Google Calendar is included in the Calenday free plan, which never expires and comes with unlimited event types, bookings and brands. You only pay if you want automatic video links, payments, email reminders or analytics. Those come with the Lifetime license, a single $99 payment.
- Why use Calenday instead of a Google Calendar booking page?
- Calenday gives each event type its own booking page and keeps several brands fully separate in one account. It also adds buffers, minimum notice, a booking horizon, public holidays and single-use links on the free plan. Google Calendar stays your calendar: Calenday reads it and writes bookings into it.
- Which Google calendars does Calenday check?
- Calenday checks the primary calendar of every Google account you connect, live, each time it shows available slots. Secondary calendars inside the same account are not read today. If you need another calendar to block time, connect the Google account that owns it as its primary calendar.
- Does the guest get an invitation from Google?
- No. Calenday sends the confirmation email itself, with an .ics file attached, and Google does not send a separate invitation. The guest is still listed as an attendee on the Google Calendar event, so the meeting shows up on their side if they use Google Calendar too.
