An Outlook scheduling tool for Microsoft 365 calendars
Calenday works as a free Outlook scheduling tool for Microsoft 365. You connect your work or school account through Microsoft’s own sign-in, and Calenday reads your Outlook calendar to hide the times you are busy. Every confirmed booking is added to Outlook with the guest as an attendee, and Microsoft sends its own invitation.
What does Calenday do with your Outlook calendar?
Calenday reads the calendar of your connected Microsoft 365 mailbox to block busy times on your booking page, then creates an Outlook event for each confirmed booking. The connection uses Microsoft Graph and OAuth, so Calenday never sees your password. The Outlook integration is part of the free plan.
Busy times blocked
Meetings already in your Outlook calendar remove the matching slots from your booking page.
Bookings added to Outlook
Each confirmed booking becomes an Outlook event with the guest listed as an attendee.
Microsoft invitation
Microsoft also sends its own Outlook invitation to the guest, in addition to the Calenday confirmation email.
Teams ready
On the Lifetime license, the same Microsoft connection can add a Microsoft Teams link to each booking.
How do you connect Outlook to Calenday?
Connecting Outlook to Calenday takes three steps: click Connect next to Microsoft, sign in with your Microsoft 365 account, then share a booking link. The connection runs through Microsoft’s official sign-in page and Microsoft Graph, so you never copy a key, a password or a token into Calenday.
- 01
Open Availability → Calendar settings
In the Calenday dashboard, go to Availability, open Calendar settings and click Connect next to Microsoft.
- 02
Sign in with Microsoft 365
Use your work or school Microsoft 365 account and approve access. The account then shows as Connected.
- 03
Share an event type
Copy a booking link from Scheduling. New bookings appear in Outlook, and busy Outlook times stay hidden from guests.
Which Microsoft accounts work with Calenday?
Calenday works with work and school Microsoft 365 accounts, connected through Microsoft Graph. Availability comes from the calendar of the connected mailbox. Exchange servers hosted on your own premises are not supported, because Calenday only talks to Microsoft’s cloud through OAuth and never asks for server credentials.
Microsoft 365 work or school
Business and education Microsoft 365 accounts connect through the standard Microsoft sign-in.
Mailbox calendar
Calenday reads the calendar of the mailbox you connected to find your busy times.
Two messages for the guest
The guest receives the Calenday confirmation email with an .ics file and the Outlook invitation from Microsoft.
Tokens kept on the server
Microsoft tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and never sent to the browser.
What are the limits of the Outlook integration?
Calenday can’t connect to Exchange servers you host yourself; it works with Microsoft 365 in the cloud. Guests receive two emails per booking, because Microsoft sends its own invitation. A connected Outlook calendar blocks time for the whole organization, and only the host can reschedule or cancel a booking.
No on-premises Exchange
Only cloud Microsoft accounts reached through Microsoft Graph can be connected.
Two emails per booking
Guests receive both the Calenday confirmation and the invitation Microsoft sends.
Organization-wide blocking
A connected Outlook calendar blocks slots for the whole organization. Use one organization per person for separate calendars.
Outlook scheduling questions
- Is Calenday a free Outlook scheduler?
- Yes. Connecting Outlook is included in the Calenday free plan, with no time limit and unlimited event types and bookings. The Lifetime license, a single $99 payment for unlimited users, adds Microsoft Teams links, payments, email reminder workflows and analytics on top of the free Outlook scheduling.
- Can I add Microsoft Teams links to Outlook bookings?
- Yes, with the Lifetime license. Choose Microsoft Teams as the video provider on an event type, and Calenday adds a Teams meeting to each confirmed booking through your connected Microsoft account. Teams requires a work or school Microsoft 365 account; personal Microsoft accounts cannot create Teams meetings through Calenday.
- Does Calenday work with on-premises Exchange?
- No. Calenday connects to Microsoft calendars only through Microsoft Graph, Microsoft’s cloud interface, so Exchange servers hosted on your own premises cannot be connected. If your organization runs Microsoft 365 in the cloud, the standard Connect button and Microsoft sign-in work as usual.
- How is Calenday different from Calendly for Outlook?
- Calenday is a separate product, not affiliated with Calendly. It connects Outlook on its free plan and sells its paid features as a one-time $99 Lifetime license for unlimited users instead of a subscription. For a detailed side-by-side of features and prices, see the Calenday vs Calendly comparison page.
