PayPal booking: accept PayPal for your appointments
Calenday adds PayPal booking to your appointment scheduling: clients pay with PayPal when they book. The payment happens before the booking is confirmed, and the money goes directly to your PayPal business account, with no Calenday commission. PayPal booking supports USD, EUR, GBP, CAD and CHF, and it comes with the $99 one-time Calenday Lifetime license.
How does PayPal booking work in Calenday?
PayPal booking in Calenday asks the client to pay with PayPal before the appointment is confirmed. Calenday holds the chosen time slot for 30 minutes during payment. When PayPal confirms the payment, the booking is confirmed, the client gets the confirmation email and the money reaches your PayPal account.
Payment before confirmation
An appointment is only confirmed once the PayPal payment goes through.
30-minute hold
The slot is reserved for the client for 30 minutes while they pay.
Paid to your account
The money goes to your PayPal business account. Calenday never holds it.
No commission
Calenday takes nothing from your payments. PayPal’s own fees still apply.
How do you connect PayPal to Calenday?
Connecting PayPal to Calenday takes three steps: click Connect next to PayPal, sign in through PayPal’s partner onboarding, then set a price on an event type. You need a PayPal business account. No API credentials are ever copied into Calenday; PayPal handles the whole connection.

Which currencies and refunds does PayPal support in Calenday?
PayPal in Calenday supports the same five currencies as Stripe: US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian dollars and Swiss francs. Refunds are manual and take one click from the Meetings page. A canceled appointment is never refunded automatically, so your cancellation policy stays in your hands.
Five currencies
USD, EUR, GBP, CAD and CHF, set on each event type.
Manual refunds
Refund a paid appointment from the Meetings page with one button.
Business account
Calenday connects PayPal business accounts through PayPal’s partner onboarding.
Works with video links
A paid appointment can also get a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link at confirmation.
What are the limits of PayPal payments in Calenday?
Refunds aren’t automatic: when an appointment is canceled, you decide whether to refund and click the button yourself. You’ll need a PayPal business account, since personal accounts can’t be connected, and prices are limited to five currencies. Calenday collects the payment but doesn’t create invoices or do your bookkeeping.
No automatic refunds
Canceling does not refund the client. Use the refund button in Meetings.
Business accounts only
The connection runs through PayPal’s partner onboarding for business accounts.
No invoicing
Calenday collects the payment for a booking but does not issue invoices or keep accounts.
PayPal booking questions
- Can clients pay with PayPal when they book an appointment?
- Yes. With the Calenday Lifetime license, you can require PayPal payment on any event type. The client chooses a time, pays with PayPal while the slot is held for 30 minutes, and receives the confirmation email once the payment succeeds. The money goes to your PayPal business account.
- Does Calenday charge a fee on PayPal payments?
- No. Calenday takes no commission on PayPal payments, and it never holds your money. PayPal charges its own transaction fees according to your PayPal account terms. Calenday’s only price is the Lifetime license, a single $99 payment for unlimited users.
- How do I refund a PayPal booking?
- Open the booking in the Meetings page and click the refund button. Refunds in Calenday are always manual: canceling an appointment does not send the money back by itself. That lets you apply your own cancellation policy, such as refunding only cancellations made well in advance.
- Should I use PayPal or Stripe with Calenday?
- Both work the same way in Calenday: payment before confirmation, a 30-minute slot hold, five currencies and manual refunds. Choose PayPal if your clients prefer paying from a PayPal balance, and Stripe if you mainly take card payments. Both are part of the Lifetime license.
